Aug 01, 2017  But if you're running into issues with it not registering the user defined style, or you just don't feel comfortable trying it without guidance, this. A Picture Profile, or Picture Style, is how the camera treats color in your shot. For post processing though, and while this profile is good fun, it isn't free. Canon: You can install picture profiles via the EOS Utility app on their.

Has anyone tried installing these Picture Styles from Canon on a 5D2 or a 40D? I seem to be having a problem installing them to one of the user defined presets.

what exacly do these do?

it's like one of those picture style presets that you have in your cam. (Neutral, Landscape, Portrait, etc..) But I want to add the other ones that they have on their site, but i can't seem to install it for some reason.

Why bother..? Shoot RAW and create any style you want in PP. I do not want my camera to dictate/determine what style of image I get.
And there is always the 'Picture Style Editor' that comes with the camera software to get the 'style' you want later.

My name is Henk. and I believe 'It is all in the eye of the beholder...'
Image Editing is allowed. Please explain what you did!

Sorry - should have answered that as well..
The style presets are basically a preset combination of contrast, sharpness, saturation, color tone. Each of these parameters can be preset in the menu within a range of 0 - 7.
I always shoot in standard which is a 'middle of the road' setting and all these parameters I correct where necessary in PP>

Which versions of DPP and EOS utility do you have? The FAQ seem to indicate that you need versions 3.1 and 2.1 respectively for the files with the Pf2 extension.

Interesting that one one page, Canon specifies Utility version 2.1, but under the 'Picture Style File' dropdown, in the 'How to use a picture style file' section, step 1 is to ensure that Utility version 2.6 is installed. You might want to try that.
