Turn OFF the NotebookStep 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery tooStep 03. Press and Hold the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minuteStep 04.
Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC AdapterStep 05. Start the Notebook and keep tapping F10 Key during the startup to access the BIOSStep 06.
At the 'Synaptics PS/2 Port ClickPad / TouchPad Ver. 16.2.16.3' screen, click 'Next'. At the 'License Agreement' dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click 'I. Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad. I have a Compaq Presario CQ62 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. I am having problems with the Synaptics PS/2 Touchpad. Sometimes it works and most times it freezes and will not do anything. I have checked the HP website for a driver update but states I have the lastest driver.
